Energy Transfer and Kyushu have entered a sale and purchase agreement (SPA) for a 20-year supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG). Under the SPA, Energy Transfer will deliver up to 1 million metric tonnes per annum (mtpa) of LNG to Kyushu.
The agreement is related to Kyushu's Lake Charles LNG project in Japan. The LNG will be delivered on a free-on-board (FOB) basis, with the purchase price comprising a fixed liquefaction fee and a gas supply component indexed to the Henry Hub benchmark.
Energy Transfer’s obligations under the SPA are contingent upon a positive FID for the project, as well as other conditions.
