The first wind turbine for ACWA Power's Bash project in Bukhara, Uzbekistan has been successfully installed. The turbine, developed by Envision, is Central Asia's largest one to date, with a capacity of 6.5MW.
China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC), Bash's engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor, was responsible for the installation of the wind turbine.
The 500MW Bash wind farm is expected to come online in early 2025. Once complete, it will feature 79 wind turbine generators (WTGs). The facility has already firmed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Uzbekistan's national grid for the next 25 years.
