Vena Energy has disclosed that it has achieved financial close for the Gudadur hybrid power project in Karnataka, India. The project, Vena Energy’s first in the country, consists of a 48MW solar plant and a 128MW wind farm.
The 176MW hybrid development received financial support from the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC), BNP Paribas Bank, Mizuho, Sumitomo Mitsui Bank Corporation (SMBC), and Axis Bank Limited.
With start-up scheduled for 2023, Gudadur will be able to meet the electricity demands of more than 500,000 homes per year once operation starts. The amount is equivalent to avoiding over 73,000 greenhouse gas emissions.
