Partners Lightsource bp, Schroders Greencoat, and H&M Group have recently announced the start-up of two solar power plants in Leicestershire, England. The two stations have a combined capacity of 50MWp.
Named Streetfields and Northfield House, both the projects will provide renewable energy to H&M Group as part of the company’s efforts to reduce its Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 carbon emissions. H&M intends to bring down its emissions by 56% in 2030.
A power purchase agreement (PPA) between the parties had been previously established in 2021.
The ownership of the assets has been transferred to a Schoreders Greencoat-managed fund, while Lightsource bp will be responsible for operations and maintenance services.
