The Robla Hub joint venture, formed by Naturgy and Enagás Renovable, has recently presented its project for the development of a green hydrogen plant in La Robla, Spain. The facility is expected to have a production capacity of up to 280MW.
Construction will require a total investment of €485m (US$517m). The project’s site is the same of Naturgy’s previous thermal power plant that is currently being decommissioned.
The project will be associated with numerous solar parks close to the hydrogen facility. Combined, they’re expected to reach approximately 450MWp in capacity.
The La Robla green hydrogen plant is scheduled to start operations in 2026, avoiding over 430,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually.
