Aurora Storm, an offshore supply vessel, has left the Port of Esbjerg in Denmark and is en route to the Nini West Field. There, the jack-up will serve as a platform for the Greensand carbon capture project, allowing commissioning of the injection systems to start soon.
The vessel had been docked in Esbjerg during the last weeks, being upgraded and prepared by Blue Water Shipping and Semco Maritime.
This is Denmark’s first carbon capture project, having been awarded a permit in late 2022. During pilot phase, it allows Greensand Project to reinject 15,000 tonnes of CO2 in the Nini West oil field.
