Sempra Infrastructure has secured a 20-year sale and purchase agreement (SPA) with Polish oil company PKN ORLEN for one million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) of liquefied natural gas (LNG).
The LNG will be sourced from the first development phase of the Port Arthur LNG terminal in Texas, United States, and the SPA will be executed under a free-on-board (FOB) basis.
With this agreement, Sempra confirmed that Port Arthur’s off-take capacity has been fully subscribed under concrete long-term scheme, which put together add up to around 10.5mtpa of LNG.
A final investment decision (FID) on the project is expected in this quarter of 2023 still, with start-up scheduled for 2027.
