QatarEnergy and ConocoPhillips have signed two long-term liquefied natural gas (LNG) sale and purchase agreements (SPAs) for the delivery of LNG from Qatar to the Brunsbüttel terminal in Germany.
According to the SPAs, up to 2 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of LNG will be received by the German terminal for the period of at least 15 years. Deliveries are scheduled to start in 2026, when Brunsbüttel is expected to conclude construction works.
The agreement’s LNG will be sourced from the North Field East (NFE) and North Field South (NFS) projects, in which QatarEnergy and ConocoPhilips both hold shares.
