Woodside Energy has concluded construction work of the floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit to be deployed at the Sangomar offshore field in Senegal. The vessel has been named after the first president of Senegal, Leopold Sedar Senghor.
The FPSO is now being transferred to Singapore, heading to Keppel Offshore & Marine’s Tuas shipyard. There, integration of topsides will be finished and commissioning services will be carried out.
The unit is a converted very large crude carrier (VLCC) with a daily production capacity of 100,000 barrels of oil.
Sangomar’s first phase has achieved 70% of total progress. When it comes online in late 2023, it will be Senegal’s first offshore oil development.
