Qair and Arec Occitanie, through its joint venture Hyd’Occ, have disclosed development plans for a green hydrogen plant in Port-La-Nouvelle, southern France. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) regarding the project has just been signed with the port’s operator.
Once fully operational, the green hydrogen facility is expected to have an electric power generation capacity of 45MW.
According to Hyd’Occ, the plant will be able to produce 6,000 tonnes of green hydrogen per year. It has been previously disclosed that the initiative will require an investment of US$30m.
Construction work is scheduled to begin in the second half of 2024.
