Aker Solutions has been granted by Equinor an extension of its maintenance and modification (M&M) services contract for the Johan Sverdrup field, Norway. The extension’s value is estimated to range from US$48.8m to US$146.5m.
Aker Solutions has been working in the offshore oil and gas field since production started in 2019. The extension will now allow the contractor to keep providing services until February 2026.
The company has disclosed that management of the contract will be carried out in Stavanger. Fabrication works will be handled at Aker’s yard in Egersund.
Equinor is the operator of Johan Sverdrup, with an operating stake of 42.6%. The field is calculated to hold 2.7 billion barrels of oil equivalent (boe).
