Equinor has announced an agreement with Ørsted for the delivery of gas to Denmark using the Baltic pipeline. The pipeline runs from Norway to Denmark and then Poland and will be of use to Equinor from 1 January 2023 to 1 April 2024.
During the time the agreement is valid, Equinor will be able to transport to Denmark about 8 TWh from Norwegian fields. This amount is approximately equivalent to 25% of the Danish gas demand.
Commissioning works for the Norway-Denmark-Poland pipeline, which will have an annual capacity of 10 billion cubic metres, are expected to start this November and to be completed until the end of the year.
