Vena Energy has made public the financial close of the first phase of its Wandoan South photovoltaic (PV) project in Queensland, Australia. The project’s site is located at Western Downs and has total capacity of 125MW.
Wandoan South’s capabilities are calculated to produce up to 365GWh of energy per year. This amount is enough to power approximately 60,000 houses in Australia.
Financing for the plant’s first development stage has been provided through debt and ancillary facilities by DBS, ING, OCBC Bank, Intesa Sanpaolo and SMBC.
The larger Wandoan South facility will have a total capacity of 1GW, covering an area of 1,424 hectares with up to 3 million solar panels. Two additional phases will be needed for its completion.
