The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has awarded two engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts worth US$1.46bn for the development of the Dalma offshore natural gas project.
The engineering contracts, which are expected to be completed in 2025, will allow the offshore gas field to generate approximately 340 million standard cubic feet (mmscfd) of natural gas per day.
The Dalma gas field is located 190km northwest of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and is part of the Ghasha concession. It is said to be the world's largest offshore sour gas development project, with production expected to begin in 2025.
Furthermore, the National Petroleum Construction Corporation (NPCC) and the joint venture (JV) between Técnicas Reunidas and Target Engineering have secured contracts from ADNOC.
The contracts include the construction of natural gas conditioning facilities, wellhead topsides, pipelines and umbilicals.
