Tata Power Solar has secured an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract worth INR12bn (£116m) from Indian state-owned energy conglomerate NTPC to construct a 320MW solar power project in India.
Tata Power did not reveal the location of the grid-connected solar power project. However, the company said that the ground mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) project is targeted to begin commercial operation in May 2022.
As part of the contract, the company will be engaged in the land acquisition, engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning of the project.
The turnkey contract also includes a three year agreement to provide operations and maintenance services for the solar power project, power evacuation system, and also telemetry up to the interconnecting state transmission utility (STU) substation.
The new EPC contract takes the order pipeline of Tata Power’s solar business to nearly 4GW with a value of around INR120bn (£1.19bn).
