Australian provider Firmus has achieved key construction milestones across its international data centre portfolio. In Tasmania, the company has topped out the first of two 42MW data halls at its Launceston campus, alongside the successful installation of primary cooling pipework. This facility forms part of the broader Project Southgate initiative, which also encompasses planned campuses at Bell Bay and Wesley Vale.
Simultaneously, Firmus received formal handover of its initial data hall in Batam, Indonesia. Developed in partnership with DayOne to house up to 170,000 graphics processing units for tenant Meta, the site is now preparing to deploy proprietary HyperCube systems. To fund this rapid expansion, the neocloud provider is targeting a US$5bn initial public offering, allocating over sixty per cent of proceeds toward servers and infrastructure.
