Expanding its maritime logistics capabilities, ADNOC Logistics & Services has placed a US$324m order for three very large gas carriers (VLGCs). The new vessels will be constructed by Chinese shipbuilder Hengli Heavy Industries, with each providing a capacity of 90,000 cubic metres.
Scheduled for delivery during the second half of 2029, this maritime addition forms part of the Emirati company's broader US$5.7bn capital expenditure programme. Upon handover, the assets will immediately enter a seven-year charter agreement to support ADNOC Global Trading operations.
This latest investment reinforces an accelerated fleet acquisition strategy. Recent commitments total approximately US$3bn, increasing the firm's dedicated VLGC fleet to 15 units, alongside previously announced orders for crude and liquefied natural gas transporters.
