Australian operator Finder Energy has delayed the final investment decision for the Kuda Tasi and Jahal (KTJ) oilfields offshore Timor-Leste. Under an amended farm-in agreement with national oil and gas company Timor GAP, the deadline has shifted to 30 November 2026.
This extension affords the joint venture additional time to finalise major contracting and debt financing. Having recently concluded an international engineering, procurement, construction and installation tender, Finder is currently negotiating with preferred suppliers. Simultaneously, the procurement of a drilling rig is advancing towards execution.
Located 160km south of Suai in water depths of 400m, the proposed upstream development encompasses three production wells tied back to a floating production, storage and offloading vessel. Despite the revised schedule, drilling operations remain targeted for late 2027.
