Chinese manufacturer Sungrow Hydrogen has secured a firm contract to deliver a 21MW PEM electrolyser for a green hydrogen facility in Gaj Olawski, Poland. Executed in collaboration with local distributor DOT Engineering, the order was placed by investor Promet-Plast and represents the largest system of its kind commissioned in the country to date.
The government-subsidised development is designed to produce 1,701 tonnes of RFNBO-certified green hydrogen annually. To power the extraction process, the site will be supported by 49.36MW of newly installed wind and solar generation capacity, alongside existing renewable energy assets. Polish firm ELQ SA is serving as the general contractor for the comprehensive build.
Once operational, the facility's output will primarily supply the domestic transportation sector and regional natural gas pipelines, mitigating over 57,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year.
