Subsea7 has secured a contract extension from TP-OTC for the third phase of the Sakarya gas field development offshore Türkiye. Valued between US$50m and US$150m, the award significantly expands the contractor’s existing scope on the landmark Black Sea project.
The additional work encompasses towing, mooring line installation and connection activities required to commission the development's floating production unit. With operations scheduled for 2028, Subsea7 will immediately commence project management and engineering tasks from its local office in Istanbul.
Discovered in 2020, the deepwater Sakarya field is located approximately 170km offshore at a water depth of 2,150m. This latest agreement reinforces a long-standing partnership between the operator and the engineering firm, ensuring the continued progression of critical offshore energy infrastructure.
