Transitioning into the execution phase, Skyborn Renewables and Stadtwerke München have reached financial close for the 976.5MW Gennaker offshore wind farm. Located 15km off the German Baltic Sea coast, the development is now fully backed by secured debt, equity and power purchase agreements.
This milestone confirms that all strategic partnerships and installation contracts are effective. Key supply chain players, including Siemens Gamesa, Boskalis and Seaway 7, were previously selected to deliver the foundations, turbine generators and inner array grid cables.
With regulatory permits already granted by the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, full-scale construction will now commence. Once fully commissioned by the end of 2028, the flagship facility is expected to generate sufficient renewable electricity to power approximately one million German households.
