NuEnergy Gas has achieved a milestone after its Tanjung Enim coal bed methane development in South Sumatra was designated as a National Strategic Project. Approved by President Prabowo Subianto, this status formally recognises the asset's importance to Indonesia's domestic energy priorities.
The classification will facilitate closer coordination with government authorities, streamlining land access, permitting and infrastructure delivery to reduce overall execution risks. The operator is currently advancing the site's initial plan of development, which targets a production rate of 25MMcf/d.
To support commercialisation, the Globaltec Formation subsidiary is concurrently raising A$3.05m through a private share placement. These funds will primarily finance the early gas sales phase, driving the nation's first approved coal bed methane project towards commercial operations.
