Aberdeen-based Three60 Energy has secured a contract extension to manage the decommissioning of three additional offshore assets for a major North Sea operator. The expanded agreement brings the energy service firm's managed portfolio for the client to six assets.
Effective from 1 July, the firm will assume comprehensive duty holder responsibilities, encompassing both installation and pipeline operator scopes. Managing late-life offshore infrastructure presents complex technical challenges. Consequently, Three60 Energy has scaled its integrated team across technical, commercial and supply chain functions in Aberdeen to support the execution of this enlarged programme.
The UK Continental Shelf is currently experiencing a surge in decommissioning activity, with industry spending reaching a record £2.6bn in 2025. Safe and efficient infrastructure removal remains an operational imperative as mature fields reach cessation of production, requiring specialised third-party contractors to deliver complete lifecycle solutions.
