June and July saw our 3 regional committees meet up again. In Scotland we were very kindly hosted by Oceaneering, in the North it was Sheffield Forgemasters and the southern meeting took place in our London office alongside our Member Update. Thank you so much to our hosts for making your facilities available and welcoming us on the day. It’s always fantastic to visit a member premises for meetings to see all the great work going on. If anyone would like to host forthcoming meetings, please contact us as we are always looking for ideas.
This round of meetings saw a slight change to the agenda with the discussions being around how we can create success through collaboration. It was the opportunity for all to share their successes and looking at how these could be rolled out for others along with any challenges that companies are facing that they can’t find a solution for. These ideas will be used for future discussions at the meetings.
The topics suggested for future discussions will include how to work effectively with EPC contractors; working with agents and distributors; the importance of relationship building with positive results being seen through collaboration; the ability to diversify into other markets to ensure future success and exploring growth markets. These discussions will be led by a champion to begin the conversations with their experience and inviting everyone to share their questions and ideas.
The meetings concluded with lots of networking which was great to see, with conversations that had started around the table being taken outside of that and future meetings between the committee members being arranged.
The work of the committees is for the benefit of the whole membership, and we are always looking for members to join the regional groups. To find out more please contact helen.doona@the-eic.com The next meetings will take place towards the end of the year so there’s plenty of time to get involved. I look forward to hearing from you.
