French renewables developer Neoen has commenced construction on two solar farms in Ireland, boosting its regional portfolio by a combined 195MWp.
The expansion features the 162MWp Garr installation in County Offaly—the company's first in the area—and the 33MWp Johnstown North facility in County Wicklow. Scheduled to come online in 2029 and 2028 respectively, the sites will collectively power 46,000 homes and offset more than 61,500t of carbon dioxide emissions annually.
Omexom has been selected to deliver the solar arrays and associated infrastructure, while TLI Group is responsible for the substation and grid connections. By addressing rising domestic electricity demand, these dual developments support Ireland's broader renewable energy targets and increase Neoen’s total operational and under-construction capacity across the country to 410MW.
