Petrobras has awarded Subsea7 a supermajor contract, valued at over US$1.25bn, for the development of the Sépia 2 field in the pre-salt Santos Basin, offshore Brazil. Positioned 280km southeast of Rio de Janeiro at a water depth of 2,170m, this second development phase is pivotal to the country's energy strategy and will be anchored by the new P-85 floating production storage and offloading vessel (FPSO).
The comprehensive work scope encompasses the engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation and pre-commissioning of subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines (SURF). Subsea7 will deliver infrastructure for 17 wells alongside a gas export line featuring 18 risers. Project management is already underway across multiple global hubs, paving the way for offshore operations to begin in 2029 to support a production capacity of 225,000 b/d.
