Refining company GS Caltex and LNG importing giant Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS) have signed an agreement for liquid hydrogen production and supply chain value.
The two firms plan to recycle liquefied natural gas (LNG) cold energy to produce the liquefied hydrogen.
A mega station, scheduled for completion in December 2024, will have a production capacity of 10,000 tonnes per year and will supply liquid hydrogen to the Seoul metropolitan area and South Korea’s central region in the future.
In addition, the two companies will review the construction of hydrogen extraction facilities and the demonstration and commercialization of carbon capture and utilisation (CCU) technologies.
