Valeura Energy has announced a final investment decision (FID) on the Wassana redevelopment project. Located offshore in the Gulf of Thailand, the field will receive a new-build central processing platform (CPP) with 24 production well slots.
Valeura Energy calculates total capital expenditure for the project to be US$120m. The redevelopment of Wassana is planned to extend its end-of-field life by 16 years to 2043.
The CPP will replace Wassana's existing mobile offshore production unit (MOPU). The new structure is expected to be fully installed and ready to start drilling campaign in late 2026.
First oil is calculated to be reached in the second quarter of 2027, with peak production estimated at 10,000 barrels per day (bpd).
