Ecopetrol is officially acquiring a stake in Block CPO-09, onshore Colombia, previously owned by Repsol. The closing of the transfer currently pends approval from the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce and the National Hydrocarbons Agency (ANH).
Ecopetrol has stated that additional information regarding the conclusion of the acquisition will be shared soon.
Located in the Llanos Orientales Basin in the Meta department, Block CPO-09 was discovered in May 2023. The potential of the finding, however, was not disclosed since.
