INPEX has concluded the expansion projects of the Shin Tokyo natural gas pipeline, which now runs over approximately 230km. The pipeline has been lengthened by approximately 16km toward Tokyo, connecting the cities of Joetsu and Fujioka.
Construction for the new stretch began in 2022. It was the fifth extension stage of Shin Tokyo's extension initiative.
According to INPEX, the extension is linked to the Tokyo pipeline in Honjo, which will enhance the stability and efficiency of natural gas supply to the area.
