RWE has selected CHC Helicopter for crew transportation services at the Sofia offshore wind farm. Currently under development in the UK North Sea, the wind farm is designed to reach a generation capacity of 1.4GW.
According to the contractor, this is the first time that RWE hires a helicopter service during the construction of an offshore wind farm. To execute the contract, CHC will use a Leonardo AW139 aircraft starting in September this year.
Activities will be coordinated from CHC's base in Norwich. The company is already active in the area transporting crews for the Dogger Bank A project.
