EDF Renewables UK has unveiled plans to develop a 49.9MW solar farm in Cornwall, England. Dubbed Trelion, the plant will be able to produce enough power to meet the needs of approximately 9,500 homes per year.
The developer will hold a formal consultation for the project in September, ahead of submitting a planning application to Cornwall Council in 2024.
Besides avoiding over 21,500 tonnes of carbon emissions per year, the installation of the Trelion solar farm will also see the establishment of a community fund. Over the 40 years that the project will be operational, the fund will receive £20,000 annually.
