Sinopec secures 27-year LNG supply from QatarEnergy

QatarEnergy has signed a sale and purchase agreement (SPA) with China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec) regarding a 27-year supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG). The deal establishes that 4 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of LNG will be provided.

This secured amount of LNG will come from QatarEnergy’s expansion project for the North Field East (NFE), the largest gas field in the world offshore Qatar.

Qatar’s Minister for Energy Affairs stated during the agreement’s signing ceremony that this is longest SPA in the history of the LNG industry.
