About this event

The offshore wind sector has gained huge recognition globally as an attractive market. The UK is a world leader in offshore wind, paving the way in operational capacity. Scottish waters are soon to see two of the largest offshore wind projects in the world come online, the 950MW Moray East project and the 1,075MW Seagreen project. Both old and emerging markets have continued to announce and pursue sector targets, solicitations, auctions, and seabed leasing rounds. New proposals are rising in Scotland, France, Ireland, Norway, Spain, Greece, and Italy, contributing to a large pipeline of commercial developments.

The 17th of January 2022 marked a historic day for the offshore wind industry not only in Scotland but globally, with Crown Estate Scotland selecting seventeen offshore wind projects in its ScotWind seabed leasing round.  The chosen proposals have a total capacity of 24,826 MW and represent the world's first active pipeline of GW-sized projects for the sector. 18 GW of the total capacity, representing over 70% of all successful bids are within 100 nautical miles of Aberdeen. These major steps bring with them a host of benefits and significant investment opportunities for the Scottish and North East economy. Whilst also aligning with the country's plans to expand electrification, increased opportunity now arises to transform its energy sector, as we move to a low carbon future.

ETZ Ltd has a clear ambition to reposition the North East of Scotland as a globally recognised integrated energy cluster focussed on the delivery of net zero. We will  develop a sustainable long-term international industry base that delivers sustainable jobs and growth for the region.

During this live ETZ Ltd masterclass we invite the North East supply chain to join us, as we hear more on the major developments of offshore wind projects in the North Sea. We will discuss the variety and scale of these projects as well as supply chain opportunities over the coming decade.
