Held in cities around the world, this triennial event is also known as the “Olympics” of the petroleum industry and covers all aspects of the industry, from technological advances in upstream, midstream, and downstream operations to the role of natural
gas and renewables, management of the industry and its social, economic, and environmental impact.

The Congress attracts the highest-level industry and government leaders globally. Returning to the United States for the first time in more than 30 years, the 23rd World Petroleum Congress will take place December 5-9, 2021, in Houston, Texas. Known as the energy capital of the world, the host city is a hub of technological innovation and entrepreneurship, both within the energy sector and across aligned sectors.

With more than 700 expert speakers and presenters from around-the-world, the 23rd World Petroleum Congress offers a platform for open dialogue to address the world’s changing energy landscape. Under the theme of Innovative Energy Solutions, delegates will have the opportunity to attend a packed week of sessions, including plenary, ministerial and strategic sessions, along with CEO panels, ministerial roundtables, expert workshops, and technical forums and roundtables.
