About this event
The EIC is happy to announce the Macaé Breakfast: Mooring & Offshore Opportunities with Petrobras, Intermoor and Ventura Offshore.
Petrobras is a Brazilian state-controlled integrated energy company and one of the world's largest oil and gas producers, with a portfolio concentrated in pre-salt assets in deepwater and ultra-deepwater fields in the Santos and Campos basins. In 2025, the company set new all-time records across more than 70 years of operations, achieving a total oil and natural gas production of 2.99 million boe/d, with the pre-salt accounting for 82% of its total output.
In November 2025, Petrobras approved its 2026–2030 Business Plan, allocating US$109bn in total investments, of which US$69.2bn is directed towards exploration and production projects, with 62% reserved for the pre-salt. The plan targets a peak oil production of 2.7 million bbl/d by 2028 and envisages the deployment of eight new production systems by 2030, seven of which have already been contracted. A central focus is the Búzios field, in the pre-salt of the Santos Basin, where Petrobras plans to complete the installation of 11 FPSOs by 2027, including the already contracted P-78, P-79, P-80, P-82 and P-83, with a 12th unit (P-91) currently under tender. In the first quarter of 2026, the company achieved a record total production of 3.23 million boe/d, reinforcing its growth trajectory with capital discipline.
Intermoor, Acteon's mooring business line, is a global company specialising in mooring and anchoring systems for offshore energy assets. The company delivers comprehensive engineering solutions across the full project lifecycle, from concept and design through to installation, inspection, integrity management and decommissioning, with a strong presence in Brazil supported by its operational base at Porto do Açu, in the state of Rio de Janeiro. In August 2026, InterMoor was awarded a three-year contract by Petrobras for inspection, preservation, maintenance and operational readiness services for subsea interconnection, mooring and anchoring materials, marking its third contract with Petrobras in under a year.
As part of the August 2026 contract, InterMoor will dedicate a 20,000m² facility at its Porto do Açu yard exclusively to the storage and maintenance of Petrobras materials. This contract followed an earlier agreement, announced in February 2026, for mooring stack-up system services supporting light-workover interventions and abandonment operations, bringing together the combined strengths of Acteon's InterMoor, UTEC and 2H business lines. Together, these contracts reinforce InterMoor's position across the full offshore mooring lifecycle in Brazil, from installation support through to asset inspection, maintenance and integrity services.
