About this event
The EIC is happy to announce the Breakfast in Rio: Gas & Power Opportunities with Eneva and Weatherford.
Eneva is an integrated Brazilian energy company operating in the exploration, production and commercialisation of natural gas and liquids. The largest private natural gas operator and one of the largest thermal power operators in Brazil, the company has a generation capacity of 10GW and a natural gas production capacity of 9 million m³ per day, with assets across eight Brazilian states. Eneva is also the largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) producer in the country, supplying thermal power plants, gas distributors and industrial clients, and supporting the decarbonisation of heavy transport by replacing diesel with natural gas.
In March 2026, Eneva contracted 5.06GW in the 2026 Capacity Reserve Auction (LRCAP 2026) held by the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (Aneel), bringing the company's portfolio to over 10GW. The winning projects involve total investments of R$18.2bn across three strategic hubs in Sergipe, Ceará and the Southeast, combining new thermal power plants with LNG terminal infrastructure. With all major generation equipment already contracted and engineering projects underway, the projects are ready for immediate implementation, reinforcing Eneva's role in strengthening the reliability of the Brazilian electricity system.
Weatherford is a global energy services company providing equipment and services used in the drilling, evaluation, completion, production and intervention of oil and natural gas wells. The company delivers innovative energy services that integrate proven technologies with advanced digitalisation, collaborating with world-class experts to help customers optimise resources and unlock the full potential of their assets across the entire well lifecycle.
The company has significantly strengthened its position in Brazil in recent years. In September 2025, the company was awarded a three-year, US$147m contract by Petrobras to deliver Tubular Running Services (TRS) across its offshore drilling operations, deploying proprietary technologies such as the Vero automated connection system and StringGuard dropped-string prevention technology. More recently, Petrobras awarded Weatherford a four-year contract to provide Intervention Services and Drilling Tools (ISDT) in onshore and offshore Brazil, announced as part of the company's fourth quarter 2025 results, further reinforcing the long-standing partnership between the two companies.
