The EIC is pleased to announce the EIC Forum: Naval Edition.
The EIC invites you to the EIC Forum: Naval Edition, a high-level gathering that will bring together CEOs, operators, shipyards, shipowners, strategic suppliers and government representatives to discuss the challenges, trends and opportunities facing the Brazilian naval industry.
Estaleiro Mauá is the most experienced and traditional shipyard in operation in Brazil. Located in Niterói (RJ), with an area of 180,000 m² and a steel processing capacity of 36,000 tonnes per year, it is the largest shipyard in Guanabara Bay and delivers a complete package of services: shipbuilding, offshore module integration, dry-docking, naval and offshore repair, as well as environmental and port terminal services. Its history began in 1845, when the Baron of Mauá transformed a small foundry into the Estaleiro Ponta D’Areia, which would become the largest shipyard in South America, and continues to this day as one of the country’s leading construction and repair hubs for the oil and gas industry.
To share the shipyard’s strategic vision, the Forum will feature Miro Arantes, CEO of Estaleiro Mauá. With 48 years’ experience in the naval and oil and gas industries, he has led major shipyards such as VARD Promar, STX Promar and Aker Promar, acted as a consultant to companies in the sector both in Brazil and abroad, and sits on the board of SINAVAL. His participation will bring to the debate the perspective of someone with deep knowledge of the cycles, challenges and opportunities of the naval market.
