About this event
Launched in London earlier this year, Bankable Energies 2025 brought together global investors, project developers, insurers, suppliers, and policymakers to tackle one of the energy sector’s biggest challenges: how to turn low-carbon and renewable projects into investable realities. The event delivered solution-driven discussions on financing frameworks, risk mitigation, and pathways to accelerate projects through to Final Investment Decision (FID).
But six months on, UK and Europe’s renewable and low-carbon markets still face major headwinds: tight margins in offshore wind, regulatory uncertainty in CCUS and hydrogen, competing infrastructure priorities, and slow policy execution. In contrast, regions like Sarawak, Malaysia are pushing through policy and regulation at pace, sharing risks and unlocking projects faster.
So why are the UK and Europe falling behind — and what needs to change to accelerate progress?
The Bankable Energies Roundtable Series will create a chance to bring developers, supply chain, policymakers, investors, and insurers together ahead of Bankable Energies 2026, and an opportunity to:
- Share lessons from faster-moving global markets
- Examine the common pitfalls holding back project finance and delivery
- Align on the priorities needed to drive investment and unlock projects
These roundtables are designed to maintain momentum between EIC’s annual Bankable Energies conference, ensuring that insights and outcomes feed directly into the 2026 agenda.
