About this event
The Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) was established in 2009 to develop a peaceful nuclear energy program to meet the UAE’s growing energy demands. ENEC is committed to the highest standards of safety, quality, security, and operational transparency for all aspects of the UAE Peaceful Nuclear Energy Program.
ENEC is delivering safe, clean, efficient, and reliable electricity to the United Arab Emirates, supporting the Nation’s social and economic growth, and helping to tackle climate change. Driven by a Culture of Safety, ENEC’s overriding priority is ensuring the safety of the UAE community, employees, and the environment.
Additionally, Nawah Energy Company (Nawah), a subsidiary of ENEC and partially owned by the Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), is responsible for safely operating and maintaining Units 1 to 4 in Barakah in adherence to the highest standards of safety, security and quality, and to the UAE’s commitment of operational transparency.
ENEC’s flagship project, the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant, is one of the largest nuclear energy plants in the world, with four APR-1400 Units capable of delivering up to 5,600 MW of electricity with zero emissions. Construction of the plant began in 2012 and has progressed steadily ever since. Unit 1 started the commercial operations in April 2021 and Unit 2 has completed the fuel load process and is working through all the required testing before start-up. Construction of Units 3 and 4 are in the final stages, with construction of the Barakah Plant now more than 96% complete.
This webinar will provide attendees with invaluable insight to ENEC, Nawah and the Supply Chain Management process for the Barakah Plant. Please join us to learn more about potential opportunities to support the long-term operation and maintenance of Barakah.
