About this event

Join the EIC and Hytron on 11 February to disscuss about the South American Hydrogen Report Launch with Hytron.

Brazil combines abundant renewable potential, maturing policy support, and strong industrial infrastructure, positioning itself as a regional frontrunner in the hydrogen sector. The National Hydrogen Programme (PNH2), alongside recent legislation such as laws 14.948/2024 and 14.990/2024, establishes clear definitions, certification rules, and fiscal incentives for low-carbon hydrogen. According to EICDataStream, Brazil currently has 73 proposed projects representing over 43 GW of electrolyser capacity and US$106.5 billion in capital expenditure (CAPEX). Major ports, including Pecém, Suape, and Rio Grande, enable gigawatt-scale export initiatives, while robust domestic demand from industries such as steel, fertilizers, and refining underpins early offtake opportunities.

Within this dynamic landscape, Hytron is uniquely positioned to capitalise on Brazil’s hydrogen momentum. Founded in 2003 as a spin-out from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), the company has established itself as a pioneer in hydrogen technologies, specialising in engineering and system integration for PEM and alkaline electrolysers, as well as natural gas and ethanol reformers. Since joining the NEUMAN & ESSER Group in 2020, Hytron has strengthened the Group’s Energy Division, delivering solutions across the entire hydrogen value chain. Strategically located in Campinas, São Paulo, Hytron works in synergy with NEUMAN & ESSER’s expanding facility in Belo Horizonte, where a R$70 million investment is underway to scale production of low-carbon hydrogen generators and advanced compressor systems for industrial gases, including hydrogen (H2) and carbon dioxide (CO2).
