In 2024, the North American region received a significant addition of renewable projects to its
utility scale electrical power grid. The past two years have been marked by policies incentivizing
green energy projects, particularly in the solar sector, which alone hit over 100GW during the
past year. As seen in Figure 1, EICAssetMap tracks 214 new facilities across different energy
sectors in the region. Over half were renewable installations, illustrating the results achieved
by policy initiatives and strategic commitments made by North American countries toward
reducing carbon emissions or achieving net-zero altogether.
