The EIC's Commercial Committee, under the Chairmanship of Dennis Palmer (ICS) and, latterly, Jon Shattock (Foster Wheeler Energy) produced a series of Commercial Topic Papers during a three-year period from 1996 to 1999. The current Contractor Vendor Forum has reviewed and updated each of these papers, where necessary, to ensure that they remain relevant, and they are now available on-line to EIC members.
Each paper takes as its theme a subject which, in the opinion of the Committee, would be of interest to individuals who are involved in the writing, preparation, or vetting of their company's commercial documents. They start from first principles and deal with problems and pitfalls which occur on the way. They are intended as a training aid for staff new to commercial activities, as well as being reference documents for more experienced staff.
Members may freely copy the Topic Papers, providing that reference is made to the source.
