TechnipFMC wins US$1bn hydrocracking complex contract in Egypt

Global oil and gas contractor TechnipFMC has signed an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract worth more than US$1bn (£790m) for a new hydrocracking complex in Egypt.
The new complex will convert lower-value petroleum products from the nearby Assiut oil refinery into approximately 2.8m tonnes per year of Euro 5 diesel and other cleaner products.
TechnipFMC will provide new process units such as a vacuum distillation unit, a diesel hydrocracking unit, a delayed coker unit, a distillate hydrotreating unit, a diesel hydrocracking unit and a hydrogen production facility.
The contract will also include other process units, interconnecting, offsites and utilities.
