TotalEnergies has chosen to extend Maersk Drilling’s work scope in Block 58, Suriname, by an additional well. The Maersk Valiant drillship will be used to carry out the drilling of this additional well, continuing its current activities in the area.
The extension begins in January 2023, lasting 100 days in total. Its cost, which also includes integrated services and a managed pressure drilling fee, is estimated at about US$24.7m.
Block 58 is an exploration block comprising 1.4 million acres located in the Guyana-Suriname Basin. It’s adjacent to the prolific Stabroek Block offshore Guyana.
