TotalEnergies has granted a front-end engineering design (FEED) contract for a consortium formed by Technip Energies and Clough. The agreement is related to Papua LNG project’s production facilities in Papua New Guinea.
Activities covered by the contract include the well pads and the central processing facility to be deployed at the Elk and Antelope onshore gas fields.
A carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) system is also being planned to reinject CO2 into the reservoirs.
With start-up expected in late 2027, TotalEnergies has said that a final investment decision (FID) for Papua LNG should be taken by the end of 2023.
