Delfin Midstream has firmed a £7bn liquefied natural gas (LNG) purchase agreement with Centrica. The deal determines that Centrica will receive one million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of LNG over the course of 15 years.
The LNG will come from the Delfin Deepwater Port in Louisiana, United States, starting in 2026, when the company expects to start operations.
The agreement is likely to support Delfin in reaching a final investment decision (FID) on its floating LNG export terminal by the end of 2022.
The Delfin Deepwater Port project will feature four moorings and four floating liquefaction and storage vessels (FLNGVs) with a capacity of 3.5mtpa each.
