Wintershall Dea and Nord-West Oelleitung (NOW) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the development of a green hydrogen project. Called BlueHyNow, it will be built in Wilhelmshaven, Germany, as part of the EnergyHub currently in construction.
BlueHyNow will use Norwegian natural gas for the production of green hydrogen. Initially developed solely by Wintershall Dea, NOW, a major pipeline operator with a site ready for use in Wilhelmshaven’s deepwater port.
The two companies expect to finish BlueHyNow’s feasibility studies by late 2022. Further details about the hydrogen plant will likely be disclosed then.
