Trident Energy has published a press release announcing a vast upgrade programme for its Okume field in Equatorial Guinea. With an estimated investment of US$57m, the project intends to expand the field capabilities and further increase production.
Okume is part of a development complex also composed by other four producing oilfields: Akom North, Ebano, Elon and Oveng. Until the end of the year, Trident Energy will convert 15 gas lift wells to electrical submersible pumps (ESP).
To enable the conversion, Okume’s central processing facilities (CPF) will also go through revamp. Requiring 200,000 hours of work, it will cover the installation of more than 200 tons of structures, including 700 piping spools, 250 valves, 15km of subsea power cables and more.
