A contract for the provision of pipelines has been signed between manufacturer Tenaris and Integración Energética Argentina SA (IEASA) for the latter’s Vaca Muerta project. The deal establishes the acquisition of 582km of 36-inch and 74km of 30-inch pipelines.
The pipelines will be used in the first section of the planned Tratayén-Saliquelló-San Nicolás gas project, also known as Néstor Kirchner, which will have a total length of 1,025km. The first stage, Tratayén-Saliquelló, will be 563km long.
Construction for Tratayén-Saliquelló is calculated to last 18 months approximately and require over US$1.5bn.
Current plans are to inaugurate this section of the pipeline before the winter season of 2024, which will commence in late June.
